About the founder

Rick Horger is the founder of Rick’s Expert Tree Service, Inc. Founded on June 6, 2001. Rick started out doing tree work for his uncle, since as far back as he can remember doing tree work. He started as a young boy handing out flyers and business cards, and by the time he was seventeen he was a Forman running his own crew.

When Rick was 19 he bought a small stump grinder, so he could grind the stumps that his uncle’s company could not get to with their larger equipment. He spent his weekends grinding stumps to save up extra money to buy a house. Rick bought a house in Croydon, PA in November of 2000,

Early in the year of 2001 friction between Rick and his uncle arose and Rick was let go. In a bind to meet financial needs with the new mortgage payment Rick searched for work. In his heart, Rick knew what he wanted, so he went for it, and started Rick’s Expert Tree Service. His goal was to become a successful and honest businessman through hard work.

He ensures each customer receives high quality work and excellent site clean up. Rick works right along with the crew and doesn’t leave until he is proud of the work that was done. To insure that the customer feels the same way, Rick does not accept any payment until the customer is 100% satisfied.
